Veteran and senior radio journalist and former SLBC Additional Director General Sumana Jayathilaka passed away.
She was the founding anchor of the very popular “Handa Mama” programme of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and was known affectionately as Handa Nanda. She began her career as an announcer with Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation in 1963 and retired as an Additional Director General in 1984. She is the wife of author late K. Jayathilaka.
