Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said that he hopes to submit a Cabinet paper at the next Cabinet meeting regarding changes that should be done to the subsidy provided for the school students’ season tickets.
The Minister also said that the Finance Ministry had appointed a committee in relation to the Cabinet paper that was submitted about six months ago regarding how to change the method of providing the season ticket subsidy to school students and submitted the committee’s recommendations to the Cabinet.
The Minister said the committee had studied it and submitted a report containing the recommendations to the Cabinet. He said a new Cabinet paper will be submitted at the next Cabinet meeting with some added proposals.
