The Sabaragamuwa Governor said that steps will be taken to upgrade the Education system in the Sabaragamuwa Province, including Sabaragamuwa University, with Canadian support.
This was revealed during a discussion held between Sabaragamuwa Province Governor Champa Janaki Rajaratne and Canadian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, Eric Walsh, at the Ratnapura Province Governor’s Office on Thursday (19).
At the meeting, both sides focused on approaches for the development of the Gems, Tourism and Education sectors in the Sabaragamuwa Province.
Besides, strategies for integrating the potential of the Sabaragamuwa Province with the country’s development process were also discussed.
The event was attended by the Secretary to the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, Darshana Samarasekera, Assistant Secretary to the Governor, Isuri Ratnayake, and the Political Officer of the Canadian High Commission Indirani Jayawardena among others.
