The office of businessman Dhammika Perera has issued a warning over fake, AI-manipulated videos circulating on social media that falsely portray him promoting investment schemes.
In an official notice, Perera’s office clarified that he has no connection with the videos, investment platforms or claims featured in them.
The statement described the videos as malicious attempts to mislead the public.
The public has been urged to report such content to the relevant social media platforms, Sri Lanka CERT at report@cert.gov.lk or law enforcement authorities.
Perera’s office also advised the public to rely on his official social media accounts for authentic information. (Newswire)
