Colombo Additional Magistrate Shalini Perera ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to conduct further investigations into the murder of Janashakthi Group Director Dinesh Schaffter. Filing a motion before the Magistrate, Borella Police requested the Magistrate to handover the investigations into the incident to the Criminal Investigation Department following the order given by the Inspector General.
The Criminal Investigations Department pleaded the Magistrate to issue an order directing 16 bank managers to handover bank reports pertaining to two identity cards.
Accordingly, the Magistrate ordered relevant bank managers to handover the aforesaid bank reports to the Criminal Investigations Department.
The CID further stated that they are conducting further investigations into the incident through CCTV footage, Bank account details, mobile phone analysis reports and several scientific facts as well.
