Th Police raided the Divisional Secretary's house on a tip-off.
The Muthukudirippu Police seized a consignment of fuel illegally stored at the Puthukudirippu Divisional Secretariat’s official residence, on Sunday.
The Police seized 235 litres of fuel hidden in the bathroom of the Divisional Secretariat’s official residence.
The Police raided the house on a tip-off given by the public and they found 120 litres of diesel, 110 litres of petrol and five litres of kerosene oil stored in the bathroom.
Police said that the Divisional Secretariat said the consignment of fuel was owned by a male servant in the house, but the Police said there was only one female worker at the house.
The Police are taking measures to file a case against the Divisional Secretariat in court.
