Child and Women’s Bureau have started an investigation to arrest a doctor who has allegedly raped a patient who came for treatment at a medical center in Siyambalape.
A senior police officer said that the concerned doctor had switched off his mobile phone and is in hiding. A special police team had been deployed to arrest the suspect.
This complaint was made to the Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau by a 42-year-old woman residing in Morapitiya. She told the police that last Monday (12), when she went to the medical center for treatment, the doctor forcibly raped her.
She has said that on three previous occasions she went to get treatments from this doctor and her husband was with her on all three occasions. But on the last Monday (12), she said that she went to the doctor’s center alone. She has said that the doctor’s wife was there on other days, but she was not there that day and he took advantage of that opportunity to commit this crime on her.
