Police opened fire at the tires of a fleeing car during a dramatic chase in Pannala on Tuesday (22), arresting a suspected drug trafficker and two women and seizing heroin and cash.
According to police, officers from the Giriulla Police Station pursued the vehicle after receiving information about a suspected drug trafficker.
The driver allegedly ignored police orders to stop and continued driving, prompting officers to fire at the car’s tires.
The vehicle was eventually brought to a halt near Pannala town, where officers arrested the suspect and two women who were seated in the back of the car.
Video footage of the operation shows officers surrounding the vehicle and smashing a car window during the arrest.
Police said 15.260 grams of heroin and Rs. 924,770 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking, were seized during the operation. (Newswire)
