A driver has been arrested over dangerous driving during a New Year festival in the Hinnatiyana Mahagama area on April 18.
According to the police, the suspect was taken into custody on April 22 by Katunayake Police along with the white Vezel SUV involved in the incident.
Police said a video circulating on social media showed the vehicle being driven in a manner that posed a risk to the public and property, prompting an investigation by Colombo Traffic Division and Katunayake Police on the same day.
The suspect has been produced before the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) at the Negombo Hospital for drug testing.
Further investigations are being carried out by Katunayake Police. (Newswire)
