A Police Sergeant attached to Embilipitiya Police was injured and admitted to the Embilipitiya Hospital after the motorcycle he was riding under the influence of alcohol, collided with a tipper truck.
This accident took place last Wednesday (8) at about 7.20 p.m. in front of the Bomaluwa College on the Embilipitiya-Rathnapura main road.
The Police Sergeant was arrested for causing an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Police say that this officer was on night duty, but he did not report to duty even when the accident happened.
