Dulaksha Madushan of Bandaranayake MV Gampaha and Oshadini Nilumika of Nimalamariya BMV Negombo emerged boys and girls champions of the Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) Centenary Marathon,(5km) powered by Nestlé Nestomalt, which was successfully held recently at Diyatha Uyana, Sri Jayawardanepura Kotte.
The boys winner Dulaksha ended the race with 14 minutes and 3 seconds while Vihanga Pramod of St Sebastian Kandana and Anushka Lakshan of Sri Gnanodaya MV Diwulapitiya were placed second and third.
Meanwhile girls champion Oshadini Nilumika finished the race with 15 minutes and 18.6 seconds while Aayesha Sanduni of Ihalakadigamuwa MV Kuliyapitiya and Rashmi Amanda of Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya wone the second and third places. The winners received valuable gifts and cash awards from the sponsor Nestle Lanka Ltd. Bandula Egodage Vice President Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Nestle Lanka and President of SLA Major General Palitha Fernando were also present at this occasion.
