An earthquake has occurred in the deep seas south of Sri Lanka today but it has no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka, specifically the coastal areas of Sri Lanka are declared safe, the Meteorology Department said.
The earthquake with a magnitude of 4 1 on the richter scale had occurred 160 kilometers away from Hambantota.
