The District Electoral Officers (DEOs) and Assistant Election Commissioners (Asst. ECs) have been called to Colombo on Saturday, August 3, by the Election Commission.
Chairman of the Election Commission R. M. A. L. Rathnayake said that they have been summoned to Colombo to the Election Commission office in Rajagiriya to discuss matters related to the upcoming Presidential Election. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has issued a notice regarding the application for postal votes in the 2024 Presidential Election.
The statement issued by the Election Commission on Wednesday, 31 July said that no one should get deceived by fake advertisements regarding the application for postal votes and instead should act according to the info provided relevant to their registration on the official website www.elections.gov.lk of the Election Commission.
The Election Commission takes no responsibility regarding the advertisements that are spread through various social media platforms and the information mentioned therein which is false and misleading the people.
Acceptance of postal voting applications for the upcoming Presidential Election will close on August 05, 2024.
