Trade, Commerce and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando said that if the production of eggs is low, then eggs will have to be imported and if this is not the case, the producer should protect the consumer by providing their products at the right price.
The Minister also said that since he is responsible for food security, there was a problem regarding egg production and he had to intervene and find a solution.
The Minister said the government will soon implement several relief measures for the public giving the benefits of the economic recovery to the people.
The Minister was speaking to the media following an event at the Gampaha District Secretariat.
