A bus travelling from Matara to Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) on a religious pilgrimage has toppled over along the Radella-Nanuoya shortcut yesterday (22) night at around 7 pm.
Speaking to the Daily News Nanuoya Police Officer in Charge (OIC) CI W.B.C. Janaka said that the bus was carrying 35 passengers onboard who are devotees on their way to the Sri Pada destination from Matara,
when the accident took place. The Nanuoya Police OIC said that out of the 35 passengers who were onboard the bus at the time of the accident, eight including the bus driver have been injured with bruises, cuts and other minor wounds and have been admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital for treatment. The Nanuoya Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
