The Criminal Investigation Department, which conducted an investigation into a fraud of nearly Rs.70 Mn in a potato and onion importing company, has arrested an employee of that company.
According to information from the Criminal Investigation Department, the suspect is a 37-year-old woman who is a resident of Sea Street, Colombo 11.
The Criminal Investigation Department states that this woman, while working as an employee of this company, defrauded the company of an amount of 69,132,038 rupees without crediting it to the company’s account. The woman will be produced before the Aluthkade Courts.
