Evergreen Group emerges as largest tea producing group

Evergreen Group situated in Horangalla, Thalgaswala in Galle district produced and sold the highest quantity of tea for a group in Sri Lanka in t 2024 selling 9,896,378 kgs.

Aruna de Silva is the Chairman of Evergreen Group of Companies and the overall operations are spearheaded by Senal de Silva (Deputy Chairman), Minul de Silva (Director) and Dushara Shanka (Director Rekadahena Plantations).

This group produces both Orthodox and CTC teas. The factories under this entity are also certified with RA & ISO certificates with around 30,000 small holders supplying green leaf to the factories. The group employs over 4,000 people from the area. Evergreen group is one of the largest tea producing groups in Sri Lanka with 13 factories under their operations namely, Evergreen, Brombil, Thundola, Talangaha, Katandola, Wathurawila, Walahanduwa, Hill Garden, Rekadahena, Kanneliya, Lihiniyawa Marakanda and Devithurai.
