Exams : Update from Commissioner General of Essential Services

Sri Lanka’s Commissioner General of Essential Services, Prabath Chandrakeerthi, has indicated that upcoming examinations could face minor postponements due to the impact of the ongoing Middle East war.

Speaking during a televised interview, he noted that the Ordinary Level examination may be delayed by a few days, though authorities are working to minimize disruptions.

“We can, in some way, move the examinations back. The Ordinary Level examination may be postponed by a few days. However, schools will close for holidays on April 10, so students will only lose a few days of school time. Such factors can have an impact. At the institutional and ministry levels, we are gathering information through ministry secretaries for the Committee on Regularizing Public Service. If such a setback occurs, we may need to work an extra day in the future. We expect to take such measures and proceed,” he added. (Newswire)
