The Jaffna Magistrate has ordered the Jaffna Urkhawathurai Police to immediately arrest the father in the video that was presented in the Jaffna Court, showing how he was severely torturing a hearing impaired four-year-old child.
A group of residents of the village have informed the Urkhawathurai police together
with several videos that this incident was taking place in Jaffna’s Urkhawathurai area and that the mother of the four-year-old child had left the father and lives with someone else and the father tortures the child very cruelly on a daily basis.
Villagers had informed the police that the father was named Nandakumar Shivachandran and that he lives in west Urkhawathurai.
Subsequent to the police submitting the relevant information to the Jaffna Court, the Magistrate had ordered that the father be taken into custody.
Urkhawathurai Police in Jaffna are conducting investigations into the incident.
