Fifty six Pakistani prisoners who were languishing in Sri Lankan jails for several years returned home on Monday thanks to the efforts of Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi and Abdul Aleem Khan.
Total of 56 Pakistani prisoners, including five women and 51 men, were brought home on a chartered plane.
Overcoming with emotions, the returning prisoners thanked Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan for facilitating their return.
An elderly woman, thanking the Ministers, said, “Thank you, for bringing us back to Pakistan. Your kindness will never be forgotten.”
Another prisoner shared, “We are thankful to Mohsin Naqvi and Abdul Aleem Khan for bringing us back home. We were in difficult conditions, but thankfully, we are back.”
The prisoners expressed their gratitude to the Ministers, saying, “We are grateful to Mohsin Naqvi and Abdul Aleem Khan for reuniting us with our families.”
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan’s concerted efforts led to the repatriation of 56 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka via a special chartered plane.
Minister Naqvi took personal interest in the repatriation of the prisoners and coordinated with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner. Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan covered all expenses related to their repatriation.
The Interior Minister praised the Sri Lankan Government and High Commissioner for their cooperation in ensuring the return of the prisoner. He also thanked Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan for bearing all the expenses in this regard. – Pakistan’s Interior Ministry
