A Filipino woman who tried to smuggle a stock of cocaine worth rs. 200 million was arrested by a group of officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division at the arrival terminal of Katunayake BIA.
The stock of cocaine had been smuggled from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
A spokesperson of the Customs Narcotics Control Division said that this cocaine stock was in her luggagge with three parcels containing chilli powder, turmeric powder and wheat flour.
It is revealed that, the woman had reportedly been offered USD 1,000, air tickets and hotel accommodation to stay in Sri Lanka for five days.
