The final Kumbal Perahera of the Esala Perahera Festival in Kandy is touring the streets today (25). The Perahera departing from Sri Dalada Maligawa in the south direction at 7.02 pm will travel along Dalada Veediya, Yatinuwara Veediya and ascend through Raja Veediya returning back to the temple.
Basnayaka Nilame of Pattini Devalaya, Hemantha Bandara, will travel in the fifth Kumbal Perahera representing the Diyawadana Nilame.
After the last Kumbal Perahera completes parading the streets, the Randoli Perahara will begin adding to the pomp and pageantry of the Kandy Esala Festival, and it is special that the Udarata Ves dances are also included in the Dewala Perahara.
The Randoli Perahera will parade the streets for five consecutive days from August 26 to 30.
