Final postal voting day today

The final day for postal voting for those who could not cast their votes between September 4 and 6 for the 2024 Presidential Election is today (12).

The Election Commission allocated September 11 and 12 as extra days for all postal voters who could not vote before to cast their votes from 9. am to 4 pm at the District Election Offices in the relevant districts where their workplaces are located.

Proof of identity is mandatory for casting the postal vote and can be done through producing the National Identity Card, Valid Driving Licence, Valid Passport or Temporary Identity Card issued by the Elections Commission. However, the Election Commission announced that if anyone comes to cast postal votes using the official ID card, the officer appointed by the Returning Officer to supervise the work of marking postal votes will check the identity of the voter. If the official identity of the postal voter cannot be proven, the Election Commission has informed the Returning Officers that the voters presenting the official ID card should not be given the opportunity to mark the ballot paper.
