Police in Maradankadawala have initiated an investigation to arrest a group of Caesars from a financial institution who stole a car worth about Rs. 5 million along with Rs.700,000 in cash posing as Police officers.
This robbery took place Sunday (27) morning at It Kattiya Junction in Maradankadawala. A businessman residing at Puliyankulam in Maradankada was travelling in his car along with a friend when another car which was tailing them had blocked the road and stopped the car. Three people had got out of the car, claiming to be Police officers and asked the businessman and his friend to get down. They had then taken the businessman’s car by force. The businessman had lodged a complaint with the Maradankadawala Police in this regard.According to the investigation, it has been found that this robbery was carried out by a group of Caesars of a financial institution.
Police stated that the law does not allow financial institutions to seize vehicles by force and that it is wrong for them to pretend to be Police officers, so they will report the matter to Court and take action against the managers of the relevant financial institution as well.
