Horowpothana Police stated that a land used by the villagers of Maradankadawala for cultivation had caught fire yesterday (22) and the fire had spread to an area of 400 acres.
Police said that this land is located in Maradankadawala Grama Seva area and many villagers are farming on this land.
Police said that no farming activities were done at the time of the fire, so there was no damage to the crops and the fire spread with the wind as there were weeds growing.
