Although there was criticism in the media that the Grade 5 scholarship exam was difficult this year, the students have excelled with five students obtaining 198 marks each, Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday. While congratulating the children who scored the highest marks in the Grade Five scholarship examination, Education Minister Dr.Susil Premajayantha said that it was possible to release the results of the examination within a month amid various challenges.
The Minister said that the five children who obtained the highest marks of 198 in Grade-five scholarship examinations are studying in Gampaha Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha Sumedha College, Kalutara, Alubomulla Mahabellana Primary School, Anuradhapura St.Joseph’s College and Badulla Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya.
The Minister stated that there are four children who got the second highest score of 197 and eight children who got the third highest score of 196.
