Former President Maithripala Sirisena told Parliament yesterday (21) that Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka’s statements regarding the Easter attack is a blatant lie.
He also said that the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed regarding the Easter attack is completely one-sided. He said this during the adjournment debate on the Easter Sunday attack.
Former President Sirisena further said that 1,500 soldiers died during the time Fonseka was the Army Commander. He does not talk about them. He is an Army Commander who cannot protect the Army headquarters. His bowels were bombarded to come out. The guts were taken in one vehicle. He was taken in another vehicle. Such a person is talking about national security today. The Parliamentary Select Committee on the Easter Attacks is completely one sided. I said that even then. It is still said today.
