World leaders have continued to extend their congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his election as President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu extended his warm congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the newly elected president of Sri Lanka, following his victory in the presidential election.
Meanwhile, issuing a statement Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki extended his heartfelt congratulations, on behalf of the people of Japan, to the President-elect of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
“This marks a significant moment in Sri Lanka’s journey as the country continues to recover from its economic challenges. I sincerely wish your excellency great success in your endeavour to lead the country and to achieve sound and sustainable development while further enhancing collaboration with the international community.” he said.
In a message on X, the Ambassador of the United States of America in Sri Lanka Julie Chung also congratulated the President-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory.
“We also congratulate the Sri Lankan people for peacefully exercising their democratic rights. We value the strong U.S.-Sri Lanka partnership and stand ready to work together on shared priorities.” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Andrew Patrick, the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka too congratulated President-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
“Congratulations to President-elect Anura Dissanayake
on his victory. Sri Lanka and the UK share a long-standing friendship – strong people to people links, close economic ties and many shared values. I look forward to working with the President and his government” he said posting a message on X.
