The Mattala Police have arrested four members of the Army Commando Unit for stealing iron and iron sheets worth more than Rs. 700,000 from a building in the Mattala Airport area.
Police say that a corporal, two lance corporals and a staff sergeant are among those arrested.
These four suspects have been remanded until December 27, after being produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate’s Court.
All four are commandos working in the camp established to protect the Mattala Airport.
