The Police Special Task Force says that four persons were arrested along with a cache of sharp weapons during a raid and search of a house at Dharmapalarama Road, Dehiwala, following information given by an associate of a well-known criminal who was arrested recently.
Six swords have been taken into Police custody along with the suspects.
The Police say that when a suspicious person was checked at a roadblock in Dehiwala, 20 mg of heroin was found in his possession.
A Police officer who carried out the raid said that during the inspection of the house in the area where the suspect resides, four people who were staying in that house were also arrested and during the search, six swords were found in the house.
The Police say that the person arrested with the drugs is an associate of Nuwan alias Ataya, a person engaged in organized crime, giving rise to the suspicion that the people in the house were planning to commit some crime.
Police say that two of the arrested have pending warrants against then for cases in Courts. Police are conducting further investigations.
