A couple who identified themselves as officers from the Government Analyst’s Department and obtained Rs.600,000 from the wife of a prison inmate with the promise of providing a report related to the inmate’s drug case were arrested by the Aluthgama Police.
The wife of the prison inmate after coming to know that the couple were fraudsters had obtained Rs.400,000 money she had given and as the couple had failed to give the remaining Rs. 200, 000, she had lodged a complaint with the Police. The Police arrested the couple after the complaint at Beruwala.
