Veteran journalist T. Jayakumar passed away at the age of 63 on July 21.
He was the elder brother of former Dinamina News Editor and senior journalist T. Chandreskara.
Jayakumar began his career in journalism as a regional journalist at Lake House and later joined the Sirasa Media Network as a Court reporter.
He has also served as an interpreter at the Labour Tribunal and the Colombo High Court, in addition to being the news editor of the Irida Peramuna.
Jayakumar was also the founder of JK Sworn Language Translation Services in Aluthkade, Colombo, and is a qualified translator of seven languages.
His body has been kept in his house at No: 240, Kudamaduwa, Piliyandala, and the last rites will be held at the Kudamaduwa Public Cemetery tomorrow (24).
