The Federation of University Teachers’ Association (FUTA) has decided to participate in the Advanced Level answer paper marking activities with immediate effect from yesterday itself following a decision reached at a FUTA union meeting held yesterday.
The answer script evaluation of the Advanced Level Examination 2022 has been delayed for over two months owing to the union decision of FUTA to boycott paper marking activities. FUTA continuously insisted on having a meeting with the President if they are to consider paper marking.
It is significant that FUTA agreed to commence paper marking promptly even without having a discussion with the President. Addressing the media FUTA Chairman Prof. S. Banneheka said its members would not be subdued by political pressure.
“Even though FUTA calls off their union action, they would move forward and continue their struggle to reach the targets following any other suitable ways,” he added.
