Following an initiative introduced by Galle Region DIG Priyantha Chandrasiri, an instructive progamme was launched for drivers and motorcyclists in Galle on January 1, with the objective of reducing traffic collisions in the district.
The session was held at Sea Street on the Galle–Matara highway.
As part of the programme, brochures on road rules were distributed.
The initial programme was launched as a pilot project covering 29 police stations in the Galle and Elpitiya Police divisions.
