A Gazette notice was issued stating the maximum retail price for one kilogramme of white eggs at Rs.880 and the maximum retail price for one kilogramme of brown eggs at Rs.920.
The Consumer Affairs Authority has taken steps to publish a maximum retail price for the sale of eggs by weight in the gazette notification.
This will be effective from yesterday (20) and the related gazette has also been published.In the past few days, the Consumer Affairs Authority has taken steps to prosecute traders who sold eggs at higher prices by weight.
Last January (20), the Consumer Affairs Authority set a maximum retail price for eggs, according to which a white egg is Rs. 44 and a brown egg is Rs. 46.
