An extraordinary gazette notification has been issued by the Health Minister to establish a price mechanism to determine the maximum retail price (MRP) of a particular drug, considering their dosage form and strength.
As per the Health Ministry sources, these orders have been issued by the Minister under Section 142 of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act No. 5 of 2015 read with sub-section (4) of Section 118 of the said Act.This measure has been taken to ensure transparency and fairness in the pricing of pharmaceuticals.
