While the six girls were collecting money from houses at Goodshed Road in Vavuniya, a group of youth in the area who were suspicious had informed the Vavuniya Police. When the police arrived, the girls had presented identity cards claiming to be from the organization they were working.
But following investigations it has been revealed that there is no such organization. Police found Rs.6,500 collected by the six girls that day and arrested a young man after questioning the girls.
