The Ministry of Buddhasasana has informed the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha that General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, will not be produced before court tomorrow (October 23) as the court has indicated that his presence is not required.
This clarification comes amidst prior reports suggesting that the monk would be brought to court tomorrow in his robe following revised prison guidelines.
Professor Ven. Kotapitiye Rahula Thera, Anunayake of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha, confirmed that the Buddhasasana Ministry informed Most Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Mahanayake Thera regarding the decision not to produce Ven. Gnanasara Thera in court.
Addressing the matter, Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana Gamagedara Dissanayake stated that steps were taken to inform the Mahanayake Thera after the court communicated that producing Ven. Gnanasara Thera before the court tomorrow was unnecessary. (Newswire)
