The government has launched a new program to attract foreign investment to the country, said Minister of State Shehan Semasinghe.
He emphasized that the government was working closely with other countries in international affairs related to financial discipline.
Shehan Semasinghe expressed these views to the media in Anuradhapura.
“ Worldwide investments have dropped to the level of around 35% at present. However, despite these obstacles, our government is taking all possible measures to bring in foreign investments to the country. But, despite our efforts, there are attempts being made to disrupt these efforts by various parties based on political or other agendas. We see that certain groups are sending messages to the international quarters perhaps for political reasons, or to safeguard the underworld and criminal activities and various other reasons,” he added
