Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) member Habeeb Rifan was sworn in as a new Member of Parliament today (24).
He took the oath before the Speaker after parliamentary proceedings commenced this morning.
The parliamentary seat became vacant following the recent resignation of M.S. Abdul Wahid, who served as a National List MP representing the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress.
Habeeb Rifan was subsequently appointed to fill the vacant National List parliamentary seat. (Newswire)
