A Police Intelligence Constable, caught red-handed by a man, while the constable was in bed with his wife, was stabbed by the woman’s husband with a sword.
Police investigations revealed yesterday (7) that the intelligence officer, who escaped from the house with stab injuries, has secretly received treatment for his injuries. He has been suspended from service.
A senior police officer said that this incident took place on or around July 31.
This constable was attached to the intelligence sub-unit of Galle Police.
It has been revealed that this constable was having an affair with this woman and stayed with her when her husband was away.
