ICCSL-CPC MoU to enhance investment opportunities

The Sri Lanka Branch of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICCSL) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Colombo Port City (CPC) to enhance investment opportunities within the CPC.

Through this strategic partnership, local and international investors are directed towards the transformative urban development of CPC, thereby creating a prosperous business environment to attract Sri Lankan and international investors to invest in the CPC.

“It is our pleasure to collaborate with the CPC to promote and facilitate the CPC by showcasing its excellent capabilities and also aims to attract various investments that will lead to the economic growth of Sri Lanka,” ICCSL Chairman Advocate Shanil Fernando stated.

He also said that the signing of this MoU is not only a commitment to support the economic development of Sri Lanka, but also a proof of the CPC’s ability to create new avenues for economic growth and prosperity.

As part of this partnership, ICCSL members and nominated parties will have valuable opportunities to conduct business within the CPC, enabling them to utilise its state-of-the-art facilities and strategic location. This initiative marks an important step in positioning the CPC as a leading hub for trade and investment in the region. As a starting point, the ICCSL has also planned to hold an international conference in October 2024, to promote investment in the CPC.

An ambitious project to transform Colombo into a modern metropolis, the CPC offers various sectors for investment, including finance, technology, tourism and trade. The ICCSL looks forward to leveraging its extensive network and expertise to facilitate this vision.
