A team of representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka next week to conduct discussions with local authorities on the seventh review of the Extended Fund Facility.
The delegation, led by IMF Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou, will remain in the country from September 10 to 23, during which they are expected to engage in talks covering recent economic developments, reform policy frameworks, and long‑term strategic challenges.
According to reports, the visit forms part of the IMF’s ongoing programme with Sri Lanka, which includes monitoring progress on reforms and assessing the country’s fiscal and debt management strategies.
The discussions are also expected to focus on the reform programme tied to the Extended Fund Facility. (Newswire)
