Implement National Integration Programme to overcome crisis – Opposition Leader

Eventhough there are numerous discussions on reviving the crisis hit country, most of these discussions concentrate more on taking Ministerial posts and gaining political mileage, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday (01).

Premadasa suggested that a National Integration Programme be implemented to solve the crisis and the country should be burdened by the appointment of a large Cabinet. Premadasa made these observations during a meeting held between the Grama Niladhari Association at the Opposition Leader’s office.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also said that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will continue to assist the Government regarding fulfilling the essential needs of the people, such as providing medicine.

“The President has requested our help to strengthen the Health Sector in the country. We will provide medicine, equipment and other relevant assistance in response to the President’s request. However, we do not want Ministerial, State Minister, Deputy Minister portfolios,” Premadasa stated.

The Opposition Leader demanded that the Government ensures the democratic rights of the people.
