A 120-member contingent of Indian military personnel arrived in Sri Lanka on October 8 to participate in the India–Sri Lanka Tri-Forces Cultural Tour 2026, aimed at strengthening military cooperation and cultural ties between the two countries.
The contingent, comprising officers and other ranks from India’s three armed services, arrived at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport and will remain in Sri Lanka until October 11.
Meanwhile, a 120-member contingent from the Sri Lankan armed forces departed for India on October 8 as part of a reciprocal cultural exchange programme.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the initiative provides military personnel from both countries with opportunities to exchange experiences, cultural values and knowledge.
The programme is expected to strengthen mutual understanding, friendship and defence cooperation between the armed forces of India and Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
