India’s rich Buddhist Heritage to be showcased at Buddhist Temples across SL on every Poya

The Indian High Commission in Colombo organised a Buddhist Exhibition at the Sri Sambodhi Maha Vihara Temple on the occasion of Medin Poya yesterday.

The exhibition showcases India’s rich Buddhist heritage with a series of photographs depicting significant episodes from the life of the Buddha and some of the prominent Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India.

It underlines our deep cultural connect and shared heritage and history. It also promotes our shared objective of advancing our people-to-people ties to strengthen our age-old bonds of friendship and cooperation.

Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha visited the Sri Sambodhi Maha Vihara Temple yesterday and took a walk-through of the exhibition. He joined the Pooja ceremony along with the Chief Prelate of the Sri Sambodhi Viharaya and Chairperson of ‘Bauddhaya’ TV Channel Ven. Boralande Vajiragnana Thera.

This Buddhist exhibition is second in the mobile exhibition series that will be showcased by the Indian High Commission in temples at different Buddhist places of worship on every Poya this year. The inaugural exhibit was held at Kalutara Bodhi on Navam Poya on February 23 and received the appreciation of over thousand devotees.
