A “Viksit Bharat Run” was held around the historic Galle Fort on Sunday as part of India’s global outreach initiative promoting its Viksit Bharat @2047 vision and physical fitness.
The initiative reflects India’s ambition to become a developed nation by 2047, when the country marks 100 years of independence.
The Galle event was organized by the Consulate General of India in Hambantota and drew participants from across the Southern Province.
Deputy Minister Rathna Gamage, Galle District Secretary K. U. Chandralal and Consul General of India in Hambantota Harvinder Singh were among those who participated, along with government officials, youth representatives and school and university students.
The Viksit Bharat Run has been organized by Indian diplomatic missions in countries around the world as a community initiative combining fitness and public engagement with India’s Viksit Bharat @2047 development vision. (Newswire)
