Indra Traders opens new Ja-Ela service center as Sri Lanka’s Metro bus fleet expands

Indra Traders (Pvt) Ltd, the sole agent for FOTON in Sri Lanka, has opened a new service center in Ja-Ela, strengthening after-sales support as the company supplies 114 FOTON Metro buses for the country’s public transport sector.

The new facility, officially opened today (08), is expected to provide dedicated maintenance, repairs and technical assistance for FOTON Metro buses and other commercial vehicles operating in the Western Province.

The expansion comes as Sri Lanka introduces new Metro buses to improve public transport services, increasing the need for reliable maintenance facilities to ensure vehicles remain operational.

According to Indra Traders, the Ja-Ela center will offer scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, repairs and genuine FOTON spare parts, supported by trained technicians.

The company said the facility is particularly aimed at commercial vehicle operators, for whom vehicle downtime can result in lost income and disruptions to daily operations.

Indra Traders and FOTON have maintained a partnership since 2007, supplying commercial vehicles and providing after-sales services in Sri Lanka.

The opening of the Ja-Ela facility marks another step in the company’s efforts to expand its nationwide service network as the number of FOTON vehicles operating in Sri Lanka continues to grow.

Established in 1975, Indra Traders provides vehicle sales, commercial vehicles and after-sales services through its network of branches and service facilities.

The company said the new center would help strengthen technical support and maintenance services for the growing FOTON fleet, including the Metro buses being supplied to Sri Lanka’s public transport sector. (Newswire)
