It was nice to see Old Sylvestrians Sports Club organize the international Boxing Day celebrations in Kandy on Sunday at the Torrington Square -George E de Silva Park.
It was well organized and attended which inspired moment of sharing, of passion, of exchange between boxers, coaches, managers and officials to get to know each other. It is a good time to the up and coming boxers and past boxers.
It was nice to see the boxing dance with music and there was shadow boxing, partner training, pad work with coaches, and the well organized event came to an end at 11.30. p.m. All boxers who were present enjoyed and were happy.
Old Sylverstrains seven a side cricket
Old Sylvestrains Sports Club will organize a seven a side cricket tournament on 16th September at the Police Grounds in aid of the 20023/24 school cricket development fund.
The organizers are expecting to include 24 teams and make it a good cricketing event.
Two Kandy schools in the semi-finals
Two Kandy schools are in the rugby semifinals, Sri Sumangala College who beat Ananda College.
And the other school is Sri Rahula College who beat Sri PiyarthnaCollege will play on the same day at the Havelock Park on 2nd September in the early hours of the day.
