Led by a well-crafted century by Skipper Andrew Balbirnie, Ireland created history in front of their home crowd by defeating South Africa for the first time ever.
Balbirnie’s decision to open the batting was vindicated as he got off to a flying start in the powerplay with Paul Stirling taking a backseat.
Despite scoring only 149 runs in the opening 35 overs, the hosts turned on the heat in the final 15 to stun Kagiso Rabada and Co.
